A rare and well-preserved example of 19TH CENTURY from 19th Century, noted for its craftsmanship, material quality, and historical relevance.

Offered for sale is a magnificent 19th-century glass rummer, featuring exceptionally detailed wheel-engraving. The bowl depicts a stout British Bulldog standing defiantly atop a Union Flag (Union Jack), set above the patriotic Napoleonic-era motto: ''WHAT I GAIN I CAN HOLD.'' This piece is a classic example of British patriotic glassware, likely dating from the mid-to-late 1800s.\n\nForm: Bucket-form bowl on a short, multi-knapped stem with a sturdy circular foot.\n\nCondition: Excellent antique condition. The glass is clear with no chips or cracks. Light shelf wear to the base consistent with age (please see photos).\n\nCraftsmanship: The engraving is of high quality, showing great texture in the bulldog''s coat and precision in the flag''s linework.
